Juvederm® Volbella XC®
JUVEDERM® VOLBELLA® with lidocaine is the latest advancement in the Juvederm® range of fillers, developed specifically for your lips and mouth area. It is a smooth gel that is injected by Dr. Galitzin, using an ultra-fine needle. It has been specifically developed as a smooth gel to give a soft, natural feel. The gel fills in lip lines and wrinkles during the hyaluronic acid within attracts and retains moisture, so results can last up to a year.
JUVÉDERM Voluma XC®
JUVÉDERM Voluma XC® is also composed of hyaluronic acid, but it has additional abilities beyond plumping lines and wrinkles. This dermal filler also restores volume to the cheeks, the area beneath the eyes, and other facial areas. As with BELOTERO Balance®, JUVÉDERM Voluma XC® contains a small amount of anesthetic and is injected with a flexible cannula to minimize pain, discomfort, and swelling. Any redness, swelling, or bruising you see should dissipate within a couple of weeks and you can resume your regular activities within 24 hours. JUVÉDERM Voluma XC® results can last up to two years.

What to Expect on the Day of Dermal Fillers
When you are ready for your Dermal Fillers, you will begin by having strategic points on your face marked as appropriate injection sites for the filler. While these points may not be concrete, it helps Dr. Galitizin map out his approach. Next, your skin will be cleansed and anesthetized to make sure you have a sterile and comfortable treatment. We may also try to numb the treatment area with a cold compress to minimize any pain from the needle injection. Each injection is performed with a very fine needle and should only take moments per site. Dr. Galitzin will inject the filler, gently massage it around to disperse it a bit, and evaluate the results, only adding more if needed. After you are both satisfied with your appearance, you will be cleaned off and you will be given an ice pack to reduce swelling and alleviate discomfort.

Dermal Fillers Recovery
Once you are released, you will be able to return to your normal routine, but you should avoid any intense activities to avoid bruising or swelling. You should also do your best to avoid sunlight during the first 24 – 48 hours, but more importantly, avoid touching your face following your treatment. If you manipulate the filler too much, it has the potential to migrate to other areas, giving an unwanted and uneven appearance.
You may have an “overfilled” appearance that will subside over the next few days, in addition to some potential lumps or “hard” areas from the filler. You will most likely have some swelling or bruising occur that can range from mild to severe, or you might experience some temporary redness or soreness. These conditions can be alleviated with some topical icing or light massaging and should improve within a matter of hours or a few days.

Are Dermal Fillers painful?
The Dermal Filler procedure is often considered to be painless because we do apply a numbing cream and cold compress before the treatment. You may find the injection to be a little uncomfortable, but they are very quick. Afterward, we give you an ice pack to alleviate any pain and minimize swelling.
How many appointments will I need?
Many of our Dermal Filler patients only need one treatment to see the stunning results, but there have been instances where patients want more or the filler doesn’t “take”, requiring additional treatment. Also, dermal fillers are not a permanent treatment, so your body will naturally absorb the filler over time. As this happens, you may want to come back for a touch-up appointment, usually every six months or so.
How long until I see results?
You should leave our office seeing very positive improvements, however, your face may appear slightly swollen or reddened. After a few days, the swelling should go away, revealing better results. On average, most patients will see their final results in about four weeks post-treatment.
Can I combine Dermal Fillers with other procedures?
Many of our Dermal Filler patients in the greater Atlanta area like to combine other skin rejuvenation treatments, including AquaGold Fine Touch or BOTOX. If you have a particular look you would like to achieve, please discuss this with Dr. Galitzin during your consultation and he will be able to help you find the perfect combination of aesthetic treatments.
What are the risks associated with Dermal Fillers?
At Skin Care at 5th Ave., Dr. Galitzin and our team take your health and safety very seriously. When an experienced injector performs your treatment, there are very minimal risks involved with Dermal Fillers. That being said, there can be certain side effects that are associated with the treatment, including:
- Acne-like skin eruptions
- Asymmetry
- Bleeding from the injection site
- Bruising
- Damage to the skin that results in a wound and possible scarring
- Infection at the injection site
- Lumps
- The palpability of the filler under the surface of the skin
- Skin necrosis (ulceration or loss of skin from disruption of blood flow)

- Under- or over-correction of wrinkles
